We all can perceive many things that need to change in the world. But the “out there” is always a reflection of the “in here,” whether individually or collectively. As Einstein reminded us, we can’t solve a problem at the level of consciousness that created the problem. So, we must change our thinking, our consciousness, our perspective, our beingness, if we want to see change in the world. It is good to remember that we won’t change the whole thing all at once, immediately. But, as we change how we see the world, we will change the world.
Speaking Truth to Circumstance
The spell of illusion can sometimes drive us crazy. Staying rooted in our Spiritual Principles combats our craziness. Practices such as meditation, Spiritual Mind Treatment, and Self-Awareness – especially working with a Practitioner – help us stay centered as we deal with life. Without a strong spiritual practice, we can get caught up in the latest cause for alarm and calls to extreme action. There are always news stories blaring outrage at us. When we take the time to stand in Truth – we will see past the frenzy, the illusions, the thunder and lightning, to the essence of a situation. Then we are able to create effective solutions. Then we are able to apply the Creative Process in life-enhancing ways.
Despite appearances, nothing is greater than the Infinite Presence. “One alone, in consciousness with the Infinite, constitutes a complete majority.” When we attempt to fight outside circumstances, we only give those circumstances power in our mind. “The practitioner does not fight evil. They know there is no evil.” When we engage in fighting with the outer, we are caught up in belief in separation and have lost faith in the Infinite Oneness. This does not mean we sit on our prayer chairs and do nothing. It means we first gain the high perspective, so we can be most effective in our actions.
