Crisis or Opportunity?
The Chinese character for “emergency” is a combination of two other characters: crisis and opportunity. This can remind us that we are at choice. When we come upon the moments in our lives where what we have known falls away or breaks or falls apart, we can find ourselves in what feels like a crisis. We can then remember to look through the eyes of possibility, we can see that even the biggest emergencies also present us with opportunity. Think of a crisis as a question and the opportunities they bring us as the possible answers. Suddenly, anything that comes our way can provoke a sense of curiosity and possibility.
